Reflections: nearing Hamburg
As the ship nears the German coast, I reflect on a warm, full day marked by early morning work, walking on deck, and the surreal sight of wind farms stretching across the sea. There are preparations underway for karaoke equipment and an upcoming visit from friends and colleagues, including Amy from Singapore. I caught up with Maria, who is unwell, and enjoyed a morning nap after a productive stretch. The plan is to anchor near the Elba this afternoon and sail through the night to Hamburg. I’m settling into the rhythms of the ship now, sleeping deeply despite the background hum and motion, and looking forward to whatever tomorrow brings.
