It was a calm night, and I managed to sleep well. Hallelujah.

All seven holds are now clean. The crew is finishing the last bit of deck cleaning, and once that’s done, they will move on to the repairs on the to-do list. It’s an endless cycle: something comes off the top, something else goes on the bottom. That’s life on a vessel.

The sea has calmed noticeably in the past couple of hours. We passed one vessel today; otherwise, the radar is empty.

I am feeling very content, sitting in the captain’s seat on the forward port side of the bridge, watching the deck crew finish their work. It’s almost like slow-motion animation. I told the chief officer it’s better than television.

We should reach the fjord, or the approach into Narvik, at about nine this evening.
