Reflections: slowly leaving the storm
The storm has eased a little, with winds down to the 30s after yesterday’s furious 50 knots, and the ship feels steadier. I managed some good sleep, even with the occasional jolts, and last night joined the crew’s karaoke, where shy voices, teasing scores, and one older seaman’s triumphant renditions of “My Way” and “Delilah” brought the house down. Today I unearthed candied ginger and plantain chips from storage to share, and with the seas calmer and even an iceberg on the horizon, life feels lighter again.
