Reflections: open seas

Warmer weather brings a calmer mood on board, though confusion in the fleet leaves many uncertain about postings. Beata longs to return home due to her father’s health, and the captain does what he can amid miscommunication. I may return on the 29th, giving me a few days in Gijón to explore and finish work. Life at sea feels simple and marvellous, with daily whale sightings, even as I start looking forward to being home with you.
